NORTON MUSEUM of ART

The Norton Museum of Art underwent a massive renovation by renowned architect Norman Foster. Part of the renovation required the design of five permanent galleries to house the museums illustrious collection of Ancient Chinese artifacts. The early stages of the design began with sketching and physical model making of the spaces which later translated to full scale prototypes of the proposed case work for our clients to come and interact with. In this instance, a full-scale prototype of the envisioned cases was the only clear solution to solving issues not achievable in merely drawing and 3D modeling. Once approved by the client we worked closely with a professional case manufacturer to create a comprehensive set of drawings for approximately 50 cases that would eventually make their way into the galleries.
The collection can be found here, along with images of the renovation.
